Gretchen Dunn Cakes is a custom cake studio in Missoula, MT. We serve the Missoula area and Western Montana.

Pricing
Each cake is custom made so there are no set prices. Fondant covered cakes begin at $8 per serving. Buttercream covered cakes start at $6.50 per serving. Beginning prices are based on basic cake flavors and minimal decoration. Most of the custom designed wedding cakes in the portfolio are between $8-$11 per serving. Some couples choose to present a smaller decorated wedding cake and serve sheet cakes to the balance of guests. Supplemental sheet cakes begin at $6 per serving.
Handcrafted Sugar Flowers
Every flower is edible and hand made out of sugar, petal by petal, leaf by leaf. Using sugar, we can make most types of flowers, in any color, at any time of the year. They won’t wilt and are completely free of pesticide/herbicide residue and preservatives and are non-toxic. Sugar flowers can be kept for years as a treasured memento. A box and tissue paper will be provided with your cake so you can remove and save the flowers.

Ingredients
We only use the highest quality ingredients – gourmet chocolate, buttermilk, sweet cream butter, and fresh fruits. We focus on fresh, local ingredients, including eggs from Gretchen's own happy chickens.

Consultations
Wedding cake consultations for 2 people plus your planner are available. We have a $40 consultation fee, which will be applied to your order should you choose to book with us. Appointments with Gretchen last about 30-60 minutes and you will be able to taste complimentary cake samples. Gretchen will ask a variety of questions to determine your style, number of servings, colors, and overall feeling for your cake design. Once she's gathered some details, she will provide a sketch of your cake and a quote of the cost of your cake.

Servings
Industry standard wedding cake servings that are used as guidelines for caterers and reception venues for cutting and serving cakes are 1” wide x 2” deep x 4” tall. Most of our cakes are taller than industry standards, usually about 5” per tier. It is better to overestimate and have leftover cake than to underestimate or have a generous cake cutter and run out of cake. Popular cake sizes serve the following:
6” round = 12 servings
8” round = 24 servings
10” round = 38 servings
12” round = 56 servings

Delivery
A delivery fee is included in your price quote for all 3 tier or larger cakes. Delivery is also available upon request for a fee for all other orders.

Payment
A 50% non-refundable retainer is due along with a signed contract to officially book your date. Payment in full is due 3 weeks before the event date.
